The American Counseling Association Department of Government Affairs will be conducting a conference call to provide members with an update on the activities in Congress that could have an impact on counselors and their clients.
The Government Affairs call will take place Thursday, Jan. 16 from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. ET. ACA members are encouraged to participate; email Art Terrazas (aterrazas@counseling.org) for the phone number and access code.
Specific topics will include the legislative outlook for 2014, the upcoming ACA 2014 Conference & Expo in Honolulu and other housekeeping items directly related to ACA’s day-to-day advocacy initiatives.
For ACA to be successful in its legislative initiatives, it is vitally important that members be kept up to date on issues being dealt with currently and briefed on events that occurred in the prior session of Congress. A fully informed and prepared membership will go a long way toward ensuring that our advocacy efforts reach their full potential.
ACA is also very excited about our annual conference and wants to ensure that as many members attend as possible. We also want to make sure that all interested members are being provided with the latest information and that we are answering any questions that our members have.
ACA staff will also be available to answer any questions that participants may have regarding the topics discussed in the conference call or any other items related to public policy and legislation. We look forward to speaking to you all very soon.
