Project Coordinator

 

The American Counseling Association, the world’s largest private, not-for-profit organization dedicated exclusively to serving and promoting the counseling profession seeks a Project Coordinator for our busy Professional Projects & Career Services Department in Alexandria, VA.    Responsibilities include assisting the department Director on matters relating to our webinars, podcasts and blogs.  The incumbent will also assist Director with taskforce and committee responsibilities, blog postings, answering member questions, and maintaining project statistics.  The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Counseling, have excellent verbal & written skills, be a multi-tasker and quick learner, and be fully versed in Word, Excel, Word Press, and the world of social media.  Salary range is $44K to $48K DOE with generous benefits that include free parking.  Send cover letter and resume to jkukorlo@counseling.org.  EOE

 

Director, Center for Counseling Practice, Policy and Research

The American Counseling Association, the world’s largest private, non-for-profit organization dedicated exclusively to serving and promoting the counseling profession seeks a Director for its newly created Center for Counseling Practice, Policy & Research at our headquarters office in Alexandria, VA.  The Director will be charged with creating the necessary infrastructure and launch the Center’s operations.  The Director will be expected to take ownership for positioning the Center as the most credible source for practical information about the counseling industry.  Primary responsibilities include developing a strategic vision for the Center; establishing processes and procedures necessary to solicit, fund and disseminate research sponsored by the Center, and managing all aspects of the research funding and review processes including all contractual requirements.

Qualifications include an advanced degree in the areas of Professional Counseling or Policy Development, with an interest in the area of ethics, and experience in program development and implementation with an emphasis in budget management.  Additionally you will possess strategic thinking/planning skills, and an understanding of grant making/proposal writing.   The ideal candidate will have strong writing/editing/verbal skills, superior organizational and project management skills, strong problem solving skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadline pressure, the capacity to work independently and in a team-setting, excellent attention to detail, proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access, and be social media savvy.  Salary to $60K with generous benefits.  Send cover letter and resume/vita to cwelch@counseling.org EOE
