Counseling Today continues its track record of earning honors in publications contests, most recently receiving three citations in the APEX 25th Annual Awards for Publication Excellence.

Lynne Shallcross, former associate editor and senior writer at Counseling Today, won an APEX award in the writing series category for her two-part series on bullying, which appeared in the February and March issues of the magazine. The first article, “Bully pulpit,” examined the role counselors can play in coming to the aid of children and adolescents targeted by bullying. The second article, “Grown-up bullying,” focused on the shocking frequency of bullying behaviors in college and the working world.

Thanks to a substantial redesign led by senior graphic designer Carlos J. Soto II, Counseling Today also received an APEX award in the category of most improved magazines and journals.

Recognition for Counseling Today also extended to its website at ct.counseling.org. Led by Heather Rudow, who coordinates Counseling Today’s social media efforts and serves as the website’s main writer, CT Online earned an APEX award in the category of best WordPress sites.

Counseling Today has received 31 awards recognizing exceptional writing, design and, now, website content since 2005.
